Boston Band Quickie: The Lights Out

Published on June th, 2009 - Author: Liv

I had the pleasure of attending The New Collisions’ CD release party last Friday at Cambridge club TT the Bears. The New Collisions, as expected, rocked; but much to my enjoyment, the openers didn’t suck. One such band on the bill worth mentioning is The Lights Out: unf*cking believable. They’ll punch your musical lights out (har har, I’m funny!) The indie band pummeled the audience with a firey dose of ear-thrashing. Lead singer Rishava Green passionately delivered crisp vocals, cutting through gritty, heavy guitar and a heart-pounding foundation of tight drumming and solid basslines. The musicians’ high energy performance left my electrifed ear drums and me craving more long after their set ended.  Check out the band’s *myspace*; I recommend “Never Going Back” and “Miss Fortune” for your listening pleasure.
