Chris Young The Rapper is an American rapper, producer & songwriter raised in San Diego, CA.

Bushe: What age were you when you first started free styling?

Chris Young : 12 years old i freestyled for the 1st time in Camden, NJ in 2001

Bushe: Can you tell me abour your background and how you got to where you are now?

Chris Young: I was born in Norfolk, VA on July 30th 1989. My mother was 21 years old and in the Navy so by the age of 4, she got stationed to San Diego where I was raised but all my family was in New Jersey so every friend I made in San Diego was like family to me. My heritage is African American and Cherokee Indian so I pretty much have the blood of spirtual strength, or at least thats what I like to think. I’ve followed my intution to every major point in this whole rap journey of mine and today I can say that I’m pretty surprised to see my dreams coming true. Faith goes a long way.

Bushe: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Chris Young: In a coffee shop in Paris writing about the last 10 years.

Bushe: So you have been signed to Cisco Adler’s record banana beat. How did you catch his attention?

Chris Young: I handed Cisco a demo of songs I made in 2008 and he took me on tour with him and a lot of other artists. It was the best experience of my life. After touring and getting to know them and living in LA for a while, I decided to put an album with my friend Mr.Adler. He’s is going to be producing many of the records on it.

Bushe: When can everyone expect this album to release?

Chris Young: The people decide when it is time. When we feel that the people are ready for it, I’ll drop the release date. I’m hoping to come out this fall.
Bushe: So this past year you have had the opportunity of performing all across the country with lots of talented artists. What were your favorite venues and favorite artists to perform with?

Chris Young: The Roxy in Hollywood, CA is like my 2nd home. I love the people who work there. When you get treated with respect at a venue like that, you bring the best energy to the crowds. As far as artists i’ve toured with, I dont have a favorite to be honest. If its me, Shwayze and some chronic then I’m good.

Bushe: Name three things that have most influenced your music?

Chris Young: God, Love and Vagina

Bushe: ok so for the rest of your life if you had to carry a pet around with you at all times which would you choose, a hamster sized rhino or a rhino sized hamster?

Chris Young: I would have a hamster sized rhino so i could move fast through the streets and do slick ass rhino shit
