My skin is a pain in the ass. One year I can be ashamed of my body casing (Mmmmmm…body casing) and then for 3 years I will receive compliments on how wondrous it is. Since I’ve been in my 20′s I have realized that my skin is simply temperamental. It needs love. Maybe my skin will be happy as a clam if I am on the pill and then maybe a few years later my skin decides it has other needs and unfortunately, it’s my job to figure out what those needs are. This last Summer I heard about MD Skincare Alpha Beta Daily Face Peels through my sister-in-law who raved on and on about them, claiming that her skin was less dry, soft and dewy in appearance. Being that my moody skin was in its down stage I figured it couldn’t hurt to try the peels out.
I first did some research and found that the product is supposed to heal your skin of virtually any basic skin problem, i.e. dry, oily or dull skin, fine wrinkles, uneven complexion and even acne. Basically, it’s supposed to be a miracle worker. Sounds good to me! Bring on the troops! For $75 (plus shipping) I could have bought a 30 day supply at Sephora but, of course, opted for the cheaper route and spent $45 (including shipping) and bought them through Ebay. You can also find samples of the face peels through Ebay for much cheaper.
So I get my little package with hopes that my skin will start spooning with me, once again. There are 2 containers and each contain thin, round pads that are damp with product. Step 1 being the actual face peel and step 2 being the neutralizer that is also suppose to sooth and soften the skin. After the 2nd day I noticed that my skin was softer and it had a healthy glow. After a week my skin was like a pig in mud! Happy day! My skin was getting more clear, my dry patches were less dry and my oily patches were still oily but not producing skin issues and my skin looked more even. My skin continued to get better but leveled out after a few weeks. The great news? I didn’t fully mind that my skin wasn’t going to get much better since it had already healed my skin to a point where I was thrilled with the results. Another negative point is that once I stopped using them my skin almost immediately reverted back to its pissy-pants state. No problem, since I will probably be a customer fo’ (no, that is not a spelling error, I’m being hip) life!
