Mustang Eleanor – Gone in 60 Seconds

Published on September th, 2008 - Author: Mr.X

This sweet country has many things to boast about, such as Dodger Dogs, “The Hills,” and a Starbucks on the corner of every street, providing crack caffeine for those constantly behind time. The one real cool thing we have, and I’m not being facetious here, is muscle; hard, loud, rock ‘n’ roll muscle. The type of muscle that makes you constantly want to blast the song Barracuda and stylishly make devil fingers with your hand out the window.

Now on to the Mustang Eleanor: the hero car from the “Gone in 60 Seconds.”

It doesn’t matter how badass your sports car is when it crosses paths with the Eleanor, a tricked out ’67 Ford Mustang GT500 that puts fear and shame in the hearts of those who can’t handle the pressure. Do you remember what happened to Nicolas Cage when he jacked it in the film? It played mind games on him and got the whole police department chasing his ass.

The official licensed builder, Classic Recreations LLC can handcraft one for you in about four months as well as include an original serial number to prove your muscle car is legit.

What’s really cool about the Eleanor is that it has a modern engine and suspension system that ensures road-hugging capabilities and new-age reliability. Such performance features include sequential fuel injection, giant cross-drilled Baer brakes and a custom 410cid Keith Craft Racing engine.

Now onto the biggest dilemma when placing an order for your car: a naturally aspirated 535hp engine or a 427ci supercharged engine producing 750hp! That is more juice than most supercars in production and should only be purchased by those who can handle such power. Who the hell am I kidding? Go with the latter and indulge.

Quick facts you need to know about:
- The original “Gone in 60 Seconds” movie was released in 1974 and the Eleanor was a ’73 Ford Mustang Mach 1.
- The car starts at $139,900 and has options such as right hand drive, keyless entry, automatic transmission and in-dash DVD player.

What the others will say:
- What are you going to do with all that muscle?

What we at The Neave will say:
- Threaten people with a good time.
