How many times have you expressed your mood on Myspace just to see that the matched up emoticon was way off? I know, it’s terrible! You know, you’re feeling a bit anxious and choose to inform the public of this and then BAM! You look like you are raging mad since your face of “choice” is bright red and, well, mad. This may result in uncomfortable questions like, “Veronika, are you ok today? Why are you so angry?” I am not angry!
The break down:
= the emoticon Myspace use to have for the mood “angry.”
= the emoticon Myspace use to have for the mood “anxious.” (stressed and rushed also use to fit the same emoticon. Huh?)
Please, don’t treat me like a fool emoticon/mood designers; I clearly see 2 angry faces. I’d say the first face is a this-line-at-the-bank-is-insanely-too-long face and the other is more like a why’d-you-call-my-Aunt-a-muff-diver-you-muff-diver kind of face.
Let’s take a gander at some potential back-ups:
This fella looks quite anxious, no?
And this one, maybe kooky-anxious?
How about, distraught-anxious?
Or anxious emoticon in thought?
Why should we have to let “the man” pick the face of our mood, especially when their are so many other choices?
Oh no, not anymore! I was tired today and knew that the people would all like to know where I stood so I logged into Myspace to share. And this is when I realized WE can now pick our emoticon separate from our feeling!
Today you can all breathe better knowing that when you view my mood you won’t have to think that Myspace may have it all wrong.
