Well, it’s happened… I’ve been around long enough for a fad that I took VERY seriously to come back around in style. When leggings, synth-pop, and plastic jewelry came back in style, I whole-heartedly embraced the 80s flashback look. I was 8 by the time the decade turned to 1990, so wearing those clothes and listening to that music reminded me of cool older brothers and sisters… not of my teens.
But now the 90s are back. I see babydoll dresses, cowboy boots, those Victorian shoes with the cut-out backs. What’s next, Blossom hats? Alicia Silverstone? I fought against it at first, but as soon as I saw a faded denim vest over a babydoll dress with cowboy boots, I realized I was a little nostalgic for those clothes… and now that I’m not an awkward teenager, maybe I could
(Another “I Love the 90s Moment”: I was driving up the 101 between So Cal and home in San Francisco. My iPod shuffled me to “Semi-Charmed Life” and I turned that shit up, singing and dancing at the top of my lungs. “Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo. The sky was GOLD… I was taking something through my nose…” I mean, has anyone besides Stephen Jenkins made meth pocks seem so poppy fun? Anyway, I had a moment of clarity where I realized that if those teenagers driving next to me could see and hear into my car, I’m totally THAT woman. Listening to old music at the top and singing along unself-consciously. I’m my mom listening to Motown on the freeway. After the song was done, I called all my friends to say I had passed some invisible milestone. I was officially a child of the 90s, and my moment was DONE.)
Anyway, the point of this rather verbose intro is that I’d like to see some ’90s shows come back… if at least for a reunion. Television Without Pity apparently thought so, too, with this post “Goofy ’90s Teen Shows That Need Reunions.”
Some of these are amazing. My love for Clarissa Explains It All is well-documented, and Hey Dude was another Nickolodeon fave. But Kenan and Kel? Hang Time? Eh… My list of goofy ’90s Teen Shows would definitely not include those two, or Fifteen, but would definitely include a Blossom, Step by Step and Salute My Shorts reunion. And Boy Meets World! Has Rider Strong withstood the test of time?
What shows do you want to see come back?

It is a nice one.
I say, yes to ‘Fifteen’ but only the episodes with Ryan Reynolds. But maybe he was only in one episode. And ‘My So-Called Life’. Miss that show.
