That’s right, you heard it straight from the writer’s mouth – I, Sonia, have no shame in my love for Sex and the City. Do I secretly long to be Carrie Bradshaw? No. Do I sit and contemplate whether she should have ended up with Aidan or Big? Maybe. But regardless of my thoughts on the fact that Miranda and Steve’s son is named “Brady Brady” (I know, I know, it’s BRADY HOBBES…but come on, it’d be pretty hilarious if it was Brady Brady), I can’t deny that all six seasons have been my savior through countless hangovers, break-ups, and lazy days spent on the couch when nothing else is on TV.

From the above statement alone, I’m sure that it will come as no shocker when I say that I already have my tickets to see Sex and the City 2 this Friday. And being the fashion hungry girl that I am, I’m sure it will also come as no surprise when I say that I’m b e y o n d excited to see the fashion, I can hardly keep my heels on!
Patricia Field, costume designer for SATC, may as well change her title to Fashion Styling Genius – her work is that good. No, I’m not saying that I enjoy it when Samantha shows up at a meeting wearing a magenta suit, or when Carrie wore a giant bird in her hair for her wedding, but nonetheless, Patricia Field has managed to create four characters identities through fashion. Let’s face it, most of us don’t hear the words Manolo Blahnik or Jimmy Choo without imagining Carrie running around the streets of New York hailing a taxi.
While we can all sit here and bitch about how there’s no way that Carrie could ever afford all her clothing and shoes with her kind of paycheck, let’s put the irritation aside and bask in our Carrie wardrobe envy. From the couture gowns to the hundreds upon hundreds of shoes, you know you all want to raid her wardrobe.
It’s no lie that out of the four women on the show, Carrie is the best dressed. Sure, Charlotte is the epitome of your preppy Connecticut girl turns Park Avenue woman. Miranda is the quintessential lawyer in her boring suits and below-the-knee dresses, and Samantha is like a neon color wheel spun out of control. But when we’re talking high-fashion, it all boils down to Carrie. Homegirl had a wedding dress designed by Vivienne Westwood GIVEN to her. It don’t get more high-fashion than that. (Yes, I know this is all fiction…)
Although I could easily sit here and write about all of my favorite SATC looks, I’ll spare you the outfit breakdowns. Instead, I’ve decided to post a few photos of my favorite foursome and inform you to stay tuned, because come next week I will have more than enough to say about my favorite Carrie freak outs, Samantha sexual encounters, Miranda food attacks, and Charlotte baby meltdowns. But most importantly, I will have a detailed dissection of the outfits.
Ok, but real quick though…Big or Aidan?

It's a fashion show that also happens to be entertaining, the perfect combo. They really upped their fashion game in Season 6. But, one of my favorite outfits ever was in the last episode of Season 4. The jacket Carrie wore on her last NY date with Big, I want to know where it came from! That whole outfit, just damn. Clearly, I have no shame either.
I know EXACTLY which outfit you are talking about. Love that jacket. I also love the outfit she wears when she first arrives in Paris, all black and white stripes. Je t'aime!
