I really couldnt think of a right headline for this post. all thats in my head right now is the clicking sound of a camera flash. I’ve been in India for nearly two weeks and worked almost every day. This is crazy! And exhausting! But i’m very thankful for so much work and love from India (: and yay! at each shoot there are sarees all over the place and big blingbling to hang all around me. it kinda reminds me on a 70s christmas tree. in a good way ^^ hehe here some pictures of my last shoots… i never had so many men being my hair and makeup stylists… straight men. or two guys for only putting jewelry on me… i have to admit… i love it ^^
I really enjoy my time in India! Every day i learn new things about my country, my people and myself. Here everyone keeps telling me how Indian I look ^^ which I never heard before from more than like one person. Julie. haha. well, okay. they only tell me when i’m in a saree and have a ton of makeup on =/ without that, noone believes my name is Evelyn Lakshmi Sharma -.-
anywho – finally I get to experience more and more about the culture i’ve been missing out on my whole life. There are so many things about India that I’m already totally in love with – like the food, the friendly people, the fashion, the drama, the music, and just the whole culture! i cant wait for the festival season to start! it’s gonna be amazing =D
however, there are also tons of things i just dont understand – like the trash, the dirt (gosh i’m so German), and, seriously, how in a country with so many billionairs there can be such poverty =(
or something less dramatic: the head wobble. i just dont get it. seriously. whenever you ask a Indian person a question or so, the answer is always a very cute head wobble ^^ “is this food spicy or no spicy?” – “wobblewobble”. “is the supermarket down the road to the left?” – “wobblewobble”. or “do you speak English?” – “wobblewobble”. errr. hu? my friends and I tried to figure out if it’s a “yes-nod” or a “no-shake” or just a loose neck. well, after intense study and research we finally discovered the definite meaning of the head wobble. we are two hundred percent sure it means: “yes. definitely. but maybe no”. i like it. and from now on thats my answer to everything too.
other than that, what i still dont understand is why they dont show Twilight here? or do they? At first I thought it’s because movies here are more conservative without kissing and such. but theres no much kissing in Twilight, is there? i dont know, cause i havent seen it =( then I thought they’re just not into vampires and Twilight and such… until I saw this awesome twilight-ish picture of me… hmm…

So i’m gonna check out the cinemas again, once i get some free time =) tomorrow i’m shooting. and so am i the next days… i cant wait for the pictures to come out! get excited everyone ^^
oh and on a side note: herewith i’d like to correct all thousands casting sheets i’ve ever filled in. my eye color apparently is not hazel. which i hear would be green-blue, even though the word sounds a lot like HAZELNUT. but anyways. i guess my eyes are Bernstein. i’d appreciate no more complaints from American people about this. haha
