THANK GOD! After this season’s floral barf up, it is a sigh of relief that we can all look back to the late 80′s, when lace, leather and the color black was HUGE! Punk Couture makes a welcome return to our wardrobes. Loosening punks rebellious roots, tailored jackets and trousers combine with flashes of traditional tartan, the ubiquitous studding, sexy leopard print and a sleek silhouette. Oversized, soft checked coats in hairy yarns and intarsia mohair knits give Punk Couture a modern edge while black leather, flat front tapered jeans and snakeskin skinnies epitomize the punk look. I am so excited that plaid has a hint of color for this fall, rather then the plaid from the past seasons ( red and brown… ugh, burberry I am SO over it!) As most of you know ( well you probably don’t, so I am going to fill you in.) The AMAZINGLY GREAT STORE TOP SHOP ( www.topshop.com ) has finally opened a store in NEW YORK CITY, and this “punk couture” fall/winter we can all thank them for! Check out www.topshop.com and look at their stylebook for this fall and winter, I really think that I cried looking at it. It makes me look forward to this fall. All the color and all the different prints. God, makes me wish I was a female sometime (shut up just becase I am gay, I cannot pull this stuff off!) I can only imagine what is going to be coming out for 2009 summer!
