Today was the happiest day of my life: children were born and people went to Disneyland, but who cares? I got to get behind the wheel of a raging bull called the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640.
I have always had posters of Lambos and wedged cars that make you contort your body into five ways just to be able to sit in them. And for me to be able to make a dream become reality, brings tears of joy and a bulge in my pants. The Murcielago has always been my all-time favorite car because it demands double takes and sudden bursts of “oh shit,” and for once, I was the one whole wielded those reactions to other unsuspecting victims.
This car has a 6.5 liter V12 engine producing 640hp and 487 lb of torque. Just imagine being snapped off from the rubber band of the world and streaks of light passing you by like a strobe light in an Austrian discotheque, “Ya, it’s goodz, no!?” What does it sound like? Just imagine a Silverback Gorilla stampeding through the mall and eating little children with no remorse. If your passenger was yelling at you while you were gunning it, all you would see is his lips move and hear nothing but nuclear fusion right behind your head.
There is no need to review the interior because this car is not what it’s about. It’s an engine and four wheels – and that’s it. This bull is all about experience and the memories you take home with it. Those memories can also involve a sweetheart you met in Brentwood and wanted to see how you really handle your stick shift.
One thing I really like about the Lamborghini which you rarely see on other sports cars is it mono exhaust pipe. This bazooka can fit small dogs – hot dogs anyone?
The next time you see a Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 cruise down the street or tear shards of asphalt on the freeway, don’t snicker in jealously – give the driver a wave, a smile or your number, thank god that there are people in this world who can appreciate the finer things in life and let those around them share the view.
