Let’s cut the verbose malarkey this time, lovers: I gots [sic] music, you needs [sic] music, so let’s make this happen. Here’s a list of artists to freshen spice up your iPod’s shuffle function:

First up, The Heartless Bastards: I loved this band so much I simultaneously bought two of their albums, and I’m not ashamed to say I’ve developed a strange compulsion to play them morning, noon, and night (my flat mates are thrilled). In fact, it’s sooooo good, I don’t want to ruin the experience for you with my muddled words. Suffice it to say, their music is bluesy pop-punk infused with some soulful Cat Power vibes indicative of a band that came straight from their garage to you. Good enough? Well, if my words can’t entice you, why don’t you just listen to the lady:

Next is Cat Power, since I just used her as an adjective in the first facet of this article and I will be sure to use her as such in the future. The woman is humble perfection, through and through, and if you don’t already know her I’m textually chastising you right now (in fact, I’m judging the crap out of you from behind this computer screen). But…nonetheless…I’m now cluing you in to one of the most talented songstresses of our generation if you’ve been so unfortunate as to be living in some perversely backwards state like Alaska or something.

Next is MGMT, because hangin’ with Electro-Hipsters in Seattle biologically altered my fundamental listening receptors and I returned to San Francisco listening to, gulp, this kind of music.
