Frankfurt-Qatar-Mumbai. My very personal identity crise and the attempt to hide under a burka forever. Ten hours later, I arrived in Mumbai. again change to left side driving. the time zone is +4.5. yes. “four and a half”. i love it. i didnt even know there are half-time-zones… I have a great apartment and lovely roommates. oh and a even lovelier maid, who calls me by my Indian name and stuffs my face with yummy food all day hehe From the first day on i’ve been busy with castings and castings. and castings. the driver picks us up in the morning to tour through all Mumbai from casting to casting and late afternoon drops us back at the apartment. i love my job! tomorrow i have my first shoot!! aah =D i’m so excited! they gonna put me in sarees and such ^^ yay
Other than our maid’s delicious food, like most people, i get sick of everything. like today when i innocently tried to eat some veg biryani, which is just rice with vegetables… it was the spiciest thing i’ve ever eaten!
i was so happy when i found some rice under all the chillis and spices. my stomach wasnt happy and turned inside out. now that makes me miss my mom’s very German-ized Indian food. no spices. just rice haha kidding.
here some pictures for you guys of the neighborhood where i live. imagine you’re walking down the street. your skin is sticky from heat and humid. a hundred different smells fly into your nose. Cows, dogs and donkeys chilling everywhere. Tons of people who sell fruits and vegetables. amazingly old looking trees all around… Indian ladies in the most colorful sarees walking down the street…
welcome to my street
the shopping mile
the cow
the place to be – the one and only supermarket
yep thats all there is. seriously. all there is. i hope soon i will have the chance to discover more. like the countryside and the beaches and the mountains… or just the city of Mumbai! It’s great to finally see “my” culture… Hello India =)
