49ers Fans

Hey all. Me llamo es John Heller and I’m in Spanish 2. More importantly I’m a sports fanatic and know just enough about the entirety of sports to call myself an expert…barely. Anyway, I am here to admit that I am a 49ers fan and I can’t make it stop. Every season I am hopelessly optimistic, to spite the lack evidence to feel that way.

When the 49ers are some pitiful record like 2 and 6, I still make the argument that they aren’t statistically out of if yet. I wish I could hear myself when I make those arguments, aloud, to other people. I must sound like Barry Bonds or Roger Clemens saying they never took the juice or rubbed on the cream (As a San Francisco Giants fan I am obligated to tell you that nothing in the pending Barry Bonds case is proven, and just because he now has a Giant head to match his personality, doesn’t mean he ‘roided up’).

That is partly why I chose to write this particular blog. Because I want to be able to get some perspective on the argument that I have been making, aloud, to people, recently. Here goes…

The San Francisco 49ers are the second best team in the NFC, and if the Cardinals pull of a win the Super Bowl, the Niners will be one of the top five teams in the NFL.

Since the Arizona Cardinals, quarterbacked and ministered by Kurt Warner have made it through the best teams the NFC had to offer. The 49ers lost to the Cardinals by combined 15 points in two closely contested match-ups. The Cardinals finished 8-8, while the Niners finished 7-9. People say that the NFC West was the worst division in the NFL, which is not true.

The Seattle Seahawks went through 43 odd wide receivers due to injury and head coach Mike Holmgren quit sometime in the pre-season.

The St. Louis Rams didn’t have Steven Jackson at full strength for more than half of the season. They changed coaches and Marc Bulger missed games.

My San Francisco 49ers changed coaches due to a poor start to the season and still only missed the playoffs by one game. Don’t let the record fool you, the 49ers are a quality team.

So, in a nutshell, here is my argument. The Cardinals are the best team in the NFC. The 49ers missed being in their position to be in the playoffs and potentially follow the Cardinals same trajectory by one game.

Enough said, watch out for the San Francisco 49ers aka the Fighting Mike Singletary’s in 2009-2010. And go Cardinals!
