My Take On Autism

Published on October th, 2008 - Author: Mikey P.

Don’t quote me on the facts cause I read them on a Starbucks cup, which stated that 1 in 150 children are diagnosed Autistic. That seems like a lot. They say that more kids are Autistic today than in the past, now whether that’s from misdiagnosis in the past or over diagnosis now I don’t know. And what I know about Autism is that it makes kids very antisocial and crazy good at math. So let’s just say that this sudden rise is true and let’s say Autism isn’t an illness but an evolutionary jump. Think about it, kids, teenagers, adults, all of us are constantly bombarded from external media. The world’s so entirely interconnected and bound to each other more than ever in the past because of the internet, that we almost have come to the point that we can’t survive, or at least function on our own. I’ve always been taught that the whole is only as strong as its parts. So if each part is weakened by its dependence on another then the entire structure is weak. So maybe Autism is nature taking control and trying to strengthen the individual in order to strengthen the whole.

Another fact I heard was that Silicon Valley has the highest concentration of Autistic children being born. It’s like all that brainpower from two people combined into one is to much and the mind cannot function in normal social ways and becomes more computer like, only being able to intake, process, and output information.
