Never Tell A Girl She Looks Like A Hooker, Whore, Hooch, or Slut

Guys, why must you insist on always doing this? Why do you think it’s okay to tell a girl she looks like some corner hoe?

After the events that took place tonight, I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m going to lay my cards on the table right this second.

Tonight I went to Culver City for my good friend’s birthday bash. Themed “The Red Light District,” each guest was requested to wear black and red club attire. Unique theme I must say, but it was just something fun to throw out there. Since I play by the rules and love themed events, I wore a form fitting red dress with black chunky heels that I purchased earlier today.

After deciding to call it a night, I come home to my computer after a lovely dinner to do some late night chatting, and I get an IM from the guy I’m seeing, or attempting to see I should say.

“Ohh new pictures. When did you take those?”

“Tonight.”

“Why are you dressed like that?”

“It was a themed party.”

“Gotcha. You look like a hooker. Hah.”

“Um thanks.”

“Yeah. I love it when girls look like they have no morals.”

“Too bad I do.”

He logs off. Good timing kid, otherwise I probably would have said something that would end our second stab at “talking” yet again (because Lord knows it just so happens to be my fault every single time something goes wrong).

For the record, I DO have morals. I like to dress sexy, every once in a while. Considering I’m too damn busy to have very much of a social life between going to school full time and working multiple jobs, I like to get dressed up when opportunity presents itself. Since I was asked numerous times to dress up for the occasion by the birthday boy himself, I had no objections.

If I’m dating you, I’ll respect you if you respect me. I’ll be honest and tell you how I roll. I don’t feel like lying to someone is the right way to kick off a relationship, and there will be no sugar coating anything for that matter. If I do or say something that offends you, tell me without having a harsh tone in your voice.

Okay maybe I am asking for it when I wear a relatively short dress, but still, don’t be a dick about it. Say, “Hey Kristina, don’t you think your dress is a little bit too much?” I’ll consider your feelings a little more this time, and I’ll probably change. Simple as that. I shouldn’t have to change my style for someone I’m interested in, but I’ll do what I think is right.

Guys should take into consideration just how hard us try to make you guys think that we’re physically attractive. Endless hours in the bathroom primping, countless make up applications, poking your eye out with eyeliner– it’s no fun, guys. We can’t just throw on a T and slacks, shave and look stunningly handsome. We dress to impress, we dress to feel a little more confident; a lot of it’s for you, so appreciate our efforts. We’re tired of being told mean things. We want to feel sexy for ourselves and be sexy, just for you.
