It’s no lie that as the weather gets warmer, people rush to their nearest beauty salon for a quick hair removal session. As we begin to show more and more skin, we risk the potential of revealing “unwanted” hair. From Brazilian bikini waxes to full on lazer hair removal, it seems that when it comes to the nether regions, the balder you are the better.
Well, as it goes with most trends, a backlash against this hair removal craze has surfaced. Finnish artists artists Katriina Haikala and Vilma Metteri have created “Hairy Underwear”, a collection of garments that feature hair in places that people typically remove it. While I don’t necessarily see people stocking their closets with a tank top covered in chest hair or pants with a full grown bush, it’s certainly funny to look at and makes you think about all the primping we go through just to avoid a stray hair while wearing a swimsuit.
