When I was growing up, I loved to read. Now that I’m in my 20′s I find little time to sit down and get through a good book. I know that’s not a good excuse, but we all lead busy lives and times have changed.
Remember when we were younger and picture books were the highlight of our childhood? I used to go to the library once a week and check out at least 4 books at a time, and after tackling picture book after picture book, chapter books became my new addiction. Even now as a college student, I love trips to Borders with my 9 year old cousins, reading books and spending time on the bright colored carpet playing “I spy” in the children’s section.
Books were my escape. I could throw myself into a book and spend hours upon hours pretending I was truly living the lives of different characters through the words I read on paper.
Here are a few of my favorite books as a child. Trust me, it was hard to narrow it down to just these, there’s so many out there that I would drag this list to the moon and back. I was a child of the Reading Rainbow show, I’m not going to lie! I knew what was up.
From picture books, to chapter books, to the types of books I read now, I, K.Marie, admit that books have stolen my heart since day 1.

As an added bonus, I present to you, yet another book turned movie coming out this October! Yes, I am stoked. Yes, I almost cried. I didn’t put this on the list because I wanted it to be a surprise. Merry Christmas!
