Last weekend we went on a trip from Manila to Tagaytay – omg! They have the world’s smallest active vulcano there! the famous Taal Vulcano! and guess what. the little vulcano is placed in a huge lake – which happens to be an old dead vulcano! its a vulcano in a vulcano! it seriously takes your breath away standing up on the mountain of the huge vulcano looking down on the small active one.
Like every good story, it started with a party. pretty much from where i took this picture. it was my friend’s birthday and being a real estate mogul or something of course he owns the best house at the edge of this vulcano! so we all got some drinks and such at his place. Live band first and Mano – Philippines best DJ – started spinning the turntables and the party rocked.
like all good parties it got kinda blurry… so at 2am we drove down to the beach in Calacayan or so and fell asleep under the stars… the nature in the Philippines is just amazing. we saw like 5 shooting stars! and some UFOs. but yea… maybe not. haha. next morning we woke up at this beautiful little beach place to the sound of some angry monkeys. i bet they were full of rabies.
at the back you can still see the vulcano aawww. and after a crazy day of wakeboarding we went back up to the vulcano. we passed by some uber skinny horses carrying fat tourists and some weird looking fields.
i was like “what weird ass carrots do they have here?!” when i found out its PINEAPPLES! Being a little girl from Germany who just learned the tricky English language, i hope you would understand that i assumed pineAPPLEs grow on trees… well well… you always learn something on a jungle safari i guess. haha. anyways good thing that you never go anywhere without a driver here. so we ended up for couple more drinks back in some vulcano edge restaurant.
you gotta love the Philippines! every time i get out of smoggy Manila i’m amazed by the islands beauty.
