It’s summer, which equals road trip season in my book. In the spirit of driving for hours on end, I have compiled a list of necessary items to have on hand to make your excursion more enjoyable.
1. Sunscreen, or a long-sleeved shirt. No one likes getting a sunburn on one arm from hanging it out the car window, but it’s an easy thing to overlook.
2. Lollipops. My favorite are sour apple blow pops…having something to play with in your mouth decreases boredom exponentially.
3. Water. And lots of it.
4. Food prepared and brought from home. I always forget to pack a sandwich and munchies, and end up spending exorbitant amounts of money on disgusting junk food from gas station shops.
5. Allergy meds and tissues. I normally don’t have allergies. However, I recently found myself cruising for hours through a heavily wooded area I had only driven by in the winter. My nose and sinuses went crazy, and I found myself without tissues or decongestant. Unless you want to blow your nose in a tee-shirt, bring the aforementioned.
6. And last, but not least…the most important item of all. THE MIX CD!!!#@!@#!!!!!!!!!! Here are the top twenty songs that should be on every single road trip mix cd ever created.
