The Best Smoothie Recipe EVER

I’m not a doctor, but it’s my personal belief that vitamin supplements are a crock of shit. We should be able to get all the nutrients we need from food. Otherwise, what’s the whole point of eating?

“To, like, not die, Britt. Duh.”

Precisely. Whoppers and Doritos aren’t helping your cause, though. You know what will? The Smoothie. (And if it’s loaded with ice cream, it’s not a smoothie, it’s a shake. Stop lying to yourself.)

Smoothies are, technically, fast food. Fast to make, fast to eat – er, drink – and fast to provide you with a ton of your daily nutritional values, all in one serving. Have one as a meal or an in-between snack.

Warning: do NOT use the following recipe if you enjoy being overweight, as the effects often include slimming down and looking svelte. Proceed with caution…

The Best Smoothie Recipe EVER

Put the following ingredients into a blender:

- 2 Lowfat Yogurts of Strawberry Nature (Strawberry-Banana, Strawberry Cheesecake, Strawberry Mango, or plain ol’ Strawberry)

- ½ Cup Orange Juice OR 1 Orange (depending on how healthy/low-sugar you’re trying to keep it)

- 1 Banana

- 1 Packet of Carnation Instant Breakfast (any flavor, and they do have a sugar-free option)

- Splash of Coconut or Vanilla Creamer

Blend. Pour into glass. Top with nonfat whipped cream if desired.

And there you have it: a perfect blend of protein, carbohydrates, and fat, as well as lots of great vitamins and minerals. Personally, I’m a sugar fiend and don’t feel like my health is compromised from in-taking it moderately, but listen to your own body. You’re the only one who truly knows what’s best for it.
