Isn’t it funny that “Times of India” is the most read English newspaper in the whole world?! Even funnier, cause there is no such thing as “times” in India. There is only one time. Everything here is “two minutes”. Which – translated into actual English – can mean anything between one second and a coulpe of hours. Honestly, in the beginning it drove me nuts. I mean I have been to sooo many places in the world with weird time expressions, but India is again a whole new level. Timewise. Let me start with the alltime favorite: “please take a seat – just two minutes – teekha” which actually means “it can only be hours, so shut it”. Or having the make-up artist telling me to please not close my eyes for “exactly two minutes” when he’s drawing one little kajal line on my undereye for one second. By now I pretty much figured which “two seconds” they mean and somehow learned to relax about it. In fact – I always love to place my new gained wisdom on my agents haha “Evelyn, pleeease be on time?!?” – “teekha. just two minutes, dear” :p
Enough about times. What more interesting things happened in my last week… again so many which makes it hard to tell a good story… I finally finished shooting my biggest campaign so far – for the body lotion. I am very excited for it to come out. I think it will be in about two weeks from now. Besides that I had some interviews and was shooting uncountable sarees again
Also some instore posters for a beautiful Indian clothing brand in Calcutta and a sexy western clothing line book in Mumbai. If I ever get the pictures, I will post them for you guys (:
Of course there also were a number of legendary parties as usual. To ask the question “Is there a party tonight” is totally moronic, cause there ALWAYS is a party in Mumbai. And mostly there’s a whole lot Bollywood drama involved or a few lucky times even a fist fight over some girl. Well, not that I had ever witnessed that or been involved in any ; ) I’m just a happy girl dancing by the bar with my girl friends and such
Anywho. After a long time, today I finally have a complete day off from work. Good chance to rethink my life… or not! There’s so much to do and so little time. Laundry, gym, spa, grocery shopping, updating my blog, reading the new vogue, my roommates cooking brazilian food… Ah well, sometimes I wish I had time to buy a nice camera to take better pictures for my blog. Or just time to buy my skinny self a new dress… or chat with my friends!! I miss you all!! I read and love all the messages you guys send me. I will try to reply more often (: promise!
