Warren Zevon — Excitable Boy Live 10-13-1976

Seven years pass so quickly, don’t they? I’m not going to wax on about meaning in rock music, and my childhood being defined by southern and Angeleno rock. I’ll just say that Warren Zevon means a lot to me. Rock music means a lot to me and I’m sad that 1. a guy like Warren is gone, and 2. there aren’t many more great rock icons left. I have no hope for music in the future based on current musical trends. If that makes me a snob, or an “Old” who doesn’t want to change, and who can’t see the value–the artistic merit in current pop music–then so be it.

You can download several great live Warren Zevon performances from Archive.org
